Getting my start at Budgy Smuggler, I’ve been able to learn the intricacies of swimwear production and transform your ideas from a 2D design on a screen into tangible garments that are ready to wear.

Gali Swimwear
Gali Swimwear fuses Australia’s First Nations culture and art with sustainable mens swimwear made in Sydney. They collaborate with artists and communities to create premium swimwear that is designed to be celebrated around the world.
My role has been to both mentor David, owner of Gali Swimwear, through the onshore production process as well as help turn the artist’s works into wearable pieces. This means making colour adjustments to suit the absorbency of the fabric; to ensure we’re doing the original artwork justice, setting up print files for placement printing via sublimation, translating traditional sewing patterns into digital placement templates and so much more.

Big Vibes Day
Big Vibes Day forge lioness level sun protection with the fun, relaxed fit rash vests, that bring the happy vibes of the Australian summer.
I’ve guided Carly through the production process from start to finish, passing on my knowledge of the industry, so that she has the tools to flow products from printers and cutters to sewers and packaging experts, seamlessly.
I’m able to transfer her brightly coloured, unique designs into print ready templates that can be re-ordered to meet the business’ high demand.

Winki Suits
Winki Suits create ‘ethically made swimsuits for women who love the sea’. I’ve assisted them throughout the production of their suits, by transforming their original artworks, colour palettes and vision into repeat patterns that can easily be printed as yardage, onto rolls of fabric.
This process involves knowing how to transform their designs enough so that they fit together to create seamless patterns, whilst maintaining the integrity of the original design.

The Acqua Brand
Born under the Australian sun, The ACQUA Brand has changed the face of sun-protective swimwear with our chic design innovation, signature gold detailing, exclusive prints and classic neutrals to bring the iconic Australian rash guard to a whole new level.
I’ve been able to assist Ally through the production process of re-creating existing designs right here in Australia and walk her through the manufacturing process. We’ve streamlined everything from start to finish, with custom templates that include maker instructions on the garments, size indicators and tags that follow each pair through the process.

Budgy Smuggler
Budgy Smuggler is a notoriously Australian brand, known for their bright swimwear and Aussie humour, who over the past decade have captured the male market. In 2018 it was time to switch the focus and give the company a female edge and I was able to provide a solutions throughout my four years spent working in house. Through creation of new, more effeminate patterns, popular workout and leisure apparel, and a shift in tone of voice via media marketing we were able to grow the brand into a more diverse and sophisticated service catering to a much larger audience.
Custom-made swimwear is another service offered by the brand that saw exponential grow through the influence of a well organised system I was able to put in place. Through one-on-one conversations with customers, I was able to fulfil their bespoke requests with timely and accurate satisfaction. Within my first year, the company saw a 70% growth in conversion rates of custom apparel, which was directly attributed by open conversations with all areas of production, timely responses and action with custom orders and the implementation of improved management and systems.
